Driven by her passion to live her life authentically and with the highest degree of integrity, dance artist and healer, Lindsey Feeney is quickly becoming known for her uncompromising drive to express from her deepest yearnings, push the barriers of tradition, and live from her intuitive heart-center.
Lindsey began her study of Arabic Belly Dance with Jamileh of
Portland, Maine in January 2007. Being
of compromised health at the time, she would partake in parts of the
class, and sitting to watch at other times. Feeling a sense of
vitality she had never experienced before,
she gently nudged herself along, practicing and resting, practicing and
resting. Six months after her first belly dance class, she auditioned
for Naya's Trance Belly Dance of Portland, ME and was accepted into the
troupe. During this time, she immersed herself in all things belly
dance, eventually stumbling upon Tribal Fusion Belly Dance. This dance style quickly consumed Lindsey, driving her to study with dancers who she felt immediately drawn to, and had something she longed to express in her own dance.
In June 2010, Lindsey embarked on her career as a solo artist, won first place in Za-Beth's Boston Viva La Diva Competition in the Diva Rising category (as well as 2nd + People's Choice in Fusion), and was one of 23 dancers selected from a world-wide search to compete in Michelle Joyce's Project Belly Dance, which aired online in January 2011 at www.topbellydancer.com.
As with all of life, Lindsey's journey began to transform. She felt a nudge to take all she had learned and experienced in life, and has began to morph her dance into a multi-dimensional, breathing entity; something that is both her at her deepest self, and beyond her simultaneously. She continues to let this transformation unfold, and honors every twist, turn, and evolutional step that it brings.
